GEORGIA WAS DISMISSED FROM RUSSIAN GAS

By the end of the year, there will be no agreements with Gazprom.

Georgia will refuse purchases of natural gas from Gazprom. Minister of Energy of the country Kakha Kaladze announced this, according to Business Georgia.

By the end of the year, there will be no agreement on the purchase of Russian gas.

Since April, Georgia will completely switch to supplying the population and enterprises with gas from Azerbaijan. Suppliers of blue fuel in Georgia are (SOCAR) and the Consortium, which is developing a gas condensate field Shah Deniz. Thus, the share of Russian gas, in the total volume of imports, will be 4%.

The Ministry of Energy also estimates the projected volumes of gas supplies to the country.

This year, Georgia will receive 2.457 billion cubic meters of gas, of which supplies from Azerbaijan will amount to 2.347 billion cubic meters (95.5%).

In 2017, the volume of gas produced in Georgia will be 10 million cubic meters.

Earlier, Gazprom issued an $ 5.3 bln bill to Ukraine for a shortage of gas contracted under the "Take or Pay" rule. The concern believes that the Ukrainian side is required to pay this bill within 10 days. Gazprom has appealed to the Stockholm arbitration with the requirement to charge additional $ 5.3 billion from Ukraine.
